A contract is more than a payment mechanism. It is a theory of the person doing the work. Employment treats the worker as someone who deserves protection within a hierarchy. B2B treats the worker as an independent party trading skill and time in a market. Neither picture is always true. The ethical question appears when a business wants the control of an employer while offering only the protections of a client.
