Virgo is the largest constellation in the zodiac.

Virgo stretches across a broad region of the southern sky, between Leo and Libra. It is also the second-largest constellation overall, surpassed only by Hydra. Its shape is not a tight cluster of nearby stars; the stars merely appear grouped from Earth’s viewpoint. This is the first useful lesson of constellations: they are sky maps built from perspective, not necessarily families of stars bound together in space.
