The vast majority of official military UFO sightings are eventually identified as ordinary human technology or natural events.

When governments look closely at UFO reports, they almost always find normal explanations. A major UK military study called Project Condign found that thousands of sightings were actually just misidentified everyday objects, weather events, or rare glowing atmospheric gases like ball lightning. Even the US military's famous 2021 report could only identify one object out of 144, which turned out to be a large, deflating balloon. Most sightings simply lack the high-quality data scientists need to make a final decision.
