What's a story you could tell where three unrelated groups chase the same meaningless object?

Snatch's diamond is a classic MacGuffin — it matters only because characters believe it matters. The object itself could be anything: a USB drive, a lost pet, a winning lottery ticket. The comedy and tension come from the collision of different worlds (gangsters, promoters, amateurs) all projecting their desires onto the same blank slate. Try writing a scene where three characters from completely different social circles argue over an object the audience knows is worthless.
